January 2012

January has been an outdoor adventure of many flavors. We spent New Year's in St. George and had a lot of fun playing pool and Apples to Apples, as well as a nice hike with Aunt Tam...



The weather has been really weird here in Utah this year. No one has ever seen a January without snow. We have friends and neighbors who have lived here 30 years and have never seen it. It has been warmish (low 40's) so we decided we may as well get out and enjoy it. We have taken a few trips to the skate park (without our camera unfortunately) but here is a shot of Brenny with his scooter...
Kaeleb has been super daring at the skate park, scooting down hills and over little jumps. We are really proud of him!! Kwint and I roller blade... but I am not as daring as Kaeleb.

Finally, yesterday, January 20th, it snowed! For the first time we were able to use the boy's Christmas presents, these awesome little snow skates. They are like mini snowboards without the bindings. They are great because they use the same technique as snowboarding but if they feel like they are about to fall they can just jump off. Kwint and I loved them too.
We made videos, but for some reason I can never get Blogger to download them, so you'll have to use your imagination and visualize how very cute it was to see the boys skating down the little hill at our neighborhood park.
